Giants World Series trophy on display at Stoneridge Mall tomorrow

City designates Feb. 2 as ‘San Francisco Giants Day’

The city of Pleasanton has designated tomorrow as “San Francisco Giants Day” with a proclamation honoring the team as its World Series trophy goes in display at Stoneridge Shopping Center.

Fans will be able to view the sterling silver trophy made by Tiffany & Company in the Grand Court at Stoneridge from 4 to 6 p.m.

It is the actual trophy that was delivered by Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig to the Giants following the team’s Nov. 1 win against the Texas Rangers.

“We are honored to serve as the Tri-Valley venue for the San Francisco Giants trophy tour and welcome local fans to Stoneridge Shopping Center to celebrate the great success of one of our Bay Area teams,” said Pleasanton Mayor Jennifer Hosterman.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to view the trophy, but will not be allowed to touch it. The viewings are free to the public and fans will have the opportunity to have a professional photo taken and can purchase the photos online.
